Wood, thatch, lava pebble and coral are among the components represented in the resort’s two 15-story guestroom towers, each oriented perpendicular to the sea to maximize sea outlooks from the strategically angled visitor rooms. Façade murals add to the characteristic look of each tower and depict some of the tales and legends of the islands.
Aulani is conceived to respect and connect with the local heritage of the Hawaiian islands. The Walt Disney Imagineering team has studied Hawaii and worked with localized architects and cultural professionals as part of the resort’s creative conceive method. The resulting conceive is a village celebrating the Hawaiian culture and culture that lead to a life filled with delight and in harmony with the natural world.
